Hot cut hardy

This is a hot cut hardy I made from a pice of leaf spring. The post was made by cutting one third of the way in on both sides and then drawing width wise and bending one third up on each side.
The steel is unknow, but eater quenching didn't shatter it, and once quenched it would chip along the edge. I have annealed it completely and it works very well for hot cutting.

Motorcycle cover (bmw 1150gs)

I wanted a cover for my bike that didn't fly  off in the wind and didn't touch the exhaust or cylinder heads so I could put it on right as I got done riding. This is the design that seems to fit the bill. It fits over the handlebars and back to the hard cases, and cinches tight with a drawstring. the only storm that pulled it off was hurricane force winds.

Long material support for the forge

The horizontal piece is 1" square .060 wall tube, with a piece of .75" tubing inside. I had the thumb screws laying around.
It allows a piece to be supported about 20" out from the forge opening.

Beginning

I've decided to start writing and posting drawings of some of the things I have / will make here. I hope that these posts inspire other people to make neat things.
